Using this app to ID birds is lots of fun, easier, and quicker than a bird guide.

This app asks a few very simple questions and gives you a big list of birds. There is no option to narrow results by shape, leg color, etc.

Very helpful for identifying any bird. Love how easy it is to use. I am definitely an amateur birder. Takes you through the process step by step.

So helpful. I often see birds at my small backyard pond. Often it wont identify the correct bird, I have to change it to trees or bushes. I am surrounded by woods. I take that into account when searching, and am not disappointed that I have to switch that one criteria

I have been looking at birds for years but not really LOOKING. Now that Im interested in knowing what I am seeing, this app takes me through the steps beautifully. I love knowing what Im seeing and reporting both at home in New England and wherever I happen to see birds.

I used this app at my old home, and identified a ton of birds there. Now that I have moved, I am identifying much different birds in my new location. What fun! My 8 year old grandson loves to look for new birds in my new area, and really has fun with this app too. Such a good learning experience and great activity for us to do together! This is one of my favorite apps. So easy to use as well.

I downloaded the app with no great expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy and accurate the app is. I have been trying to identify birds in my yard with books but never found the right name. This app asks a few simple questions and it shows a list of possibilities. Every bird I searched was on the list! I love this!

Its a pleasure to submit data to an app this clean, simple, and helpful. We have all the common backyard birds at our feeders, but this app has helped me identify juncos, kestrels, Coopers hawks, and even lesser goldfinches.

The functionality is great, but more birds would be nice and the app is rather large.

This is a really fun app. I am a pretty advanced birder and in my area there are not many birds that I cant identify but I can see where this app will be an amazing asset in other areas of the country. Definitely worth having.

This is my favorite app. I have turned my backyard into a bird sanctuary and become an avian expert thanks to Cornell Merlin Bird ID. I should note that I sent in a suggestion and actually got a response from a human being - refreshing.

Easy, accurate, exciting to be able to share information to capture census data.

Love the app, steep learning curve, the bird ID tool is fun. Highly recommended.

Would be even better if there were an option to list all birds found in a given location. Another useful feature would be the ability to save your search history of recently identified birds.
